  • 125 g butter, softened
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 package (7 g) vanilla sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 ea egg

  • 4-5 medium-sized apples (e.g., Granny Smith or Braeburn)

For the Pudding

  • 500 ml milk Can substitute with plant-based milk for dairy-free
  • 1 package (40 g) vanilla pudding powder Can use dairy-free version if needed
  • 100 g sugar (for pudding)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional) For additional flavor

Preparation

  • Start by gathering all your ingredients.
  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a 26cm (10-inch) springform pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, vanilla sugar, and a pinch of salt. Mix well until blended evenly.
  • Add the softened butter and the egg to the dry mixture. Mix until you have a smooth, cohesive dough.
  • Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared springform pan.
  • Peel and core the apples, then slice them thinly and arrange them evenly over the dough.
  • In a saucepan, heat 500 ml of milk until it begins to boil. In a small bowl, mix the vanilla pudding powder with the remaining 100 g of sugar.
  • Once the milk is boiling, lower the heat and stir in the pudding mixture while constantly stirring until thickened (1-2 minutes).
  • Pour the thickened pudding over the arranged apples, ensuring it fills the gaps completely.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the pudding is set and the edges are lightly golden.

Notes

For best flavor, consider adding a teaspoon of lemon juice to the apple slices. Optional toppings include whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, or a drizzle of caramel sauce.
