  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • ½ cup powdered sugar For the glaze.
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract or apple schnapps

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients first. Peel, core, and slice the apples.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, brown sugar, ground nutmeg, ground cinnamon, and melted butter. Mix well.

Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Take the refrigerated biscuits and separate them. Gently flatten each biscuit on a lightly floured surface.
  • Spoon a generous amount of the apple mixture into the center of each biscuit circle.
  • Fold each biscuit over the filling to create a half-moon shape and crimp the edges with a fork.
  • Arrange the turnovers on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  • While baking, combine powdered sugar with vanilla extract and add water to achieve a smooth glaze consistency.
  • Once baked, drizzle the glaze over the warm turnovers before serving.

Serving
