Base Ingredients

  • 4 slices bacon Crispy.
  • 2 large potatoes, thinly sliced You can leave the skin on for added texture.
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your favorite blend) Cheese adds creaminess.
  • ½ cup milk Use dairy-free alternatives if needed.
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients before starting. Thinly slice the potatoes and crumble the bacon once it's crispy.

Cooking the Base

  • In a skillet, fry the bacon until it reaches a crispy state. Once done, remove and crumble it, leaving some fat in the skillet.

Layering

  • In a greased baking dish, create the first layer by arranging half of the potato slices evenly across the bottom.
  • Sprinkle half of the crumbled bacon over the potato layer.
  • Top the layer of bacon with half of your shredded cheese.
  • Repeat with remaining potatoes, bacon, and cheese layers.

Egg Mixture

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
  • Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered ingredients in the baking dish.

Baking

  • Put the baking dish in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C). Bake for about 40-45 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the eggs have set.

Serving

  • Once baked, let it cool slightly before serving. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

Customize with sautéed vegetables or use turkey bacon for a lighter option. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
