  • ½ cup Honey Microwave briefly to loosen if needed.
  • ¼ cup Soy Sauce Use low-sodium for a lighter option.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil Can substitute with avocado oil.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Fresh minced garlic recommended, but garlic powder can be used.
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika Smoked paprika for extra flavor.
  • ½ teaspoon Salt Adjust to taste, particularly if using soy sauce.
  • ¼ teaspoon Pepper Black or white pepper works; adjust to preference.

For the Main Dish

  • 4 fillets Cod Fillets Fresh is best; substitute with thawed frozen cod if necessary.
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice Can replace with lime juice for a different flavor profile.
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped Parsley Optional, can omit if desired.

Preparation

  • Start by gathering all your ingredients. Measure out the honey, soy sauce, olive oil, garlic, and remaining items.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper. Whisk until well blended.
  • Place the cod fillets in a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the fish, ensuring the fillets are adequately coated. Cover and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cooking

  • Lightly grease a baking dish with olive oil or cooking spray.
  • Place the marinated cod fillets in the greased baking dish, spaced apart for even cooking.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
  • After baking, drizzle with fresh lemon juice and sprinkle chopped parsley on top.
  • Plate the cod fillets while warm and enjoy.

Notes

For an added kick, incorporate ginger into the marinade. This dish is versatile and can be served with rice, vegetables, or salad.
