  • 2 cups rolled oats Quick oats can be used instead of rolled oats.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup Agave syrup or honey can be used as substitutes.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Dark or dairy-free chocolate chips for a healthier option.
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt Don't skip the salt; it enhances all flavors.

Preparation

  • Prep your workspace and gather all your ingredients.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a 9×9 baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas.
  • Stir in the nut butter until smooth.
  • In another bowl, combine rolled oats, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Add vanilla extract and maple syrup to the wet mixture and blend well.
  • Fold the dry mixture into the wet mixture until combined.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Transfer the mixture to the baking pan and press down slightly.
  • Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until edges are golden.
  • Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-5 days, in the fridge for up to a week, or freeze for up to 3 months.
