Ingredients
  

For the Chicken Skewers

  • 1 pound chicken breast, cut into cubes Can substitute with tofu or tempeh for a vegetarian version.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce Use tamari for gluten-free.
  • 1 tablespoon honey Maple syrup can be used for a vegan option.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper Adjust to taste for spice sensitivity.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Wooden skewers, soaked in water for at least 30 minutes Prevents burning during grilling.

Preparation

  • Gather all the ingredients and cut the chicken breast into even cubes.
  • Soak the wooden skewers in water for about 30 minutes.

Make the Marinade

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine olive oil, soy sauce, honey, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Whisk until blended.

Marinate the Chicken

  • Add chicken cubes to the marinade and toss well to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Preheat the Grill

  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.

Thread the Chicken onto Skewers

  • Remove chicken from marinade and thread onto soaked skewers, leaving space between pieces.

Grill the Skewers

  • Place skewers on the grill and cook for about 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown.

Check for Doneness

  • Using a meat thermometer, ensure chicken reaches 165°F (75°C) for safe consumption.

Serve

  • Remove from grill and let rest. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

To avoid burning skewers, always soak them beforehand. Enhance flavor with citrus zest or garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
