  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs optional, for topping

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish and set aside.
  • In a large pot, cook ground beef with chopped onion over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Add BBQ sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the beef mixture. Stir well to combine.
  • Pour in milk and beef broth, then bring the mixture to a simmer.
  • Add elbow macaroni and cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
  • Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
  • Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Top with breadcrumbs if desired.
  • Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until hot, bubbly, and golden on top.

Notes

For extra flavor, try mixing cheeses such as gouda or pepper jack. Add veggies like bell peppers or spinach for more color and nutrition. This casserole can also be made ahead and reheated before serving.
