  • 90 g rolled oats
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder Use unsweetened cocoa powder for best results.
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 475 ml non-dairy milk Almond, soy, or oat milk work well.
  • 1.5 tablespoons maple syrup Can be replaced with mashed bananas for sweetness.
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds Can substitute with flaxseeds.

Toppings

  • 2 tablespoons chopped chocolate
  • 1 serving Fresh fruit Such as bananas, berries, or apples.
  • 1 tablespoon Nut butter Almond butter or peanut butter are great options.

Preparation

  • Measure out your quick-cooking oats, rolled oats, cocoa powder, and salt into a medium saucepan.

Cooking

  • Place the saucepan on medium heat and stir the dry ingredients until evenly combined.
  • Pour in the non-dairy milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and chia seeds. Mix well.
  • Increase the heat slightly until the mixture comes to a gentle boil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer for about 5 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Check the consistency and add more non-dairy milk if too thick.
  • Divide the oatmeal into serving bowls.
  • Top with chopped chocolate, fresh fruits, and a dollop of nut butter.
  • Serve immediately while warm.

Notes
