  • 2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients. Thinly slice the onions and mince the garlic.
  • Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Add the sliced onions and dried thyme.
  • Cook the onions for about 20–25 minutes until they become deeply caramelized.
  • Push the onions to the side of the skillet and add the ground beef, cooking until browned.
  • Once the beef is cooked, mix it with the caramelized onions.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  • Pour in the Worcestershire sauce and beef broth, and let it simmer for about 5-10 minutes.
  • While the beef-onion mixture simmers, toast the buns until golden.
  • Assemble by spooning the beef and onion mixture onto the bottom halves of the toasted buns.
  • Place a slice of cheese on top of the beef mixture and let it melt.
  • Complete the sandwich by placing the top bun over the melted cheese and beef.
