  • ½ cup sour cream Can be substituted with Greek yogurt.
  • ½ cup buttermilk Can use a non-dairy alternative mixed with vinegar.

Herbs and Spices

  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped Chop finely for best flavor integration.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped Chop finely for best flavor integration.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Use fresh garlic if preferred.
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper Freshly ground is preferred.
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice Fresh lemon juice is recommended.

Preparation

  • Gather all the ingredients on your kitchen counter. Fresh herbs should be washed and chopped finely, while dry spices should be measured accurately.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, and buttermilk. Whisk until smooth and creamy.
  • Fold in the chopped fresh dill and parsley.
  • Mix in the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well-blended.
  • Stir in the lemon juice until fully incorporated.
  • Taste and adjust any seasoning as needed.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let flavors meld.

Serving

  • Give it a good stir before serving. Use it as a dressing for salads, a dip for veggies, or a topping for grilled meats.

Notes

Best served cold. Can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Consider adding horseradish for extra kick or smoked paprika for a smoky flavor.
