Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients to streamline the process.
  • In a large bowl, combine the vanilla cake mix, all-purpose flour, and instant yeast. Stir until well blended.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the warm milk, melted butter, and the large egg.

Mixing and Kneading

  • Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients and stir until a slightly sticky dough forms.
  • Dump the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the kneaded dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm area for about 30 minutes.

Rolling and Filling

  • After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a ½ inch thick rectangle.
  • Sprinkle the brown sugar and ground cinnamon evenly over the rolled-out dough and press down gently.
  • Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log and cut into 12 equal pieces.
