Ingredients
  

For the Bake

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted For brushing on top
  • 2 16-ounce cans jumbo butter biscuits Cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper To enhance flavor
  • 2 15-ounce cans creamy sausage gravy For layering
  • 1 pound ground pork or sausage Cooked and crumbled

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9 x 13-inch casserole dish.
  • Open one can of biscuits, cut them into bite-sized pieces, and spread evenly in the casserole dish.

Cooking

  • Bake the biscuits for about 12–15 minutes until they start to puff up but are not fully baked.
  • In a skillet, cook the ground pork or sausage over medium heat, stirring until browned and crumbled. Drain excess grease.
  • Layer the cooked meat evenly over the partially baked biscuits.
  • Heat the two cans of gravy in the skillet until warm, then pour it over the meat layer.
  • Sprinkle black pepper over the gravy.
  • Cut the biscuits from the second can and layer them over the top.
  • Bake uncovered for 10 minutes until the top layer is golden.
  • Cover the dish with foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  • Brush the top layer with remaining melted butter before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3–4 days. Can also be frozen for up to 2 months; reheat in the oven at 350°F.
