Ingredients

For the Rolls

  • 2 packages store-bought cinnamon rolls (8 count each)

Frosting

  • 2 tablespoons milk adjust to desired consistency
  • Red gel food coloring to achieve a “bloody” shade

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 °F (205 °C).
  • Open and unwrap the cinnamon rolls. Gently unroll each roll completely.
  • Twist and coil the unraveled dough on a baking sheet to create a “gutsy” appearance.
  • Bake for about 8-10 minutes, until golden brown but still soft.
  • While rolls bake, mix powdered sugar with milk. Add red food coloring until you get a rich red-blood color.
  • Remove rolls from oven and allow to cool slightly (a few minutes).
  • Drizzle the red frosting over the warm rolls generously to look like dripping blood.
  • Serve warm and enjoy the spooky breakfast!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Reheat in a microwave for 10-15 seconds or in a warm oven. Freezing un-frosted rolls works too; thaw then bake and frost when ready.
