  • 2 large eggs eggs
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast To activate the dough

  • 480 g all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 85 g unsalted butter, softened For flavor and texture

Cheesecake Filling Ingredients

  • 450 g cream cheese, softened Key for the filling texture
  • 100 g granulated sugar To sweeten the filling
  • 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 225 g blueberries, fresh or frozen Can substitute with other berries

Streusel Topping Ingredients

  • 57 g unsalted butter, melted
  • 90 g all-purpose flour
  • 50 g brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon Adds flavor to the topping

Preparation

  • Gather all ingredients to ensure nothing is missed.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, eggs, instant yeast, granulated sugar, and salt. Let sit for about 10 minutes until bubbles form.
  • Add sifted all-purpose flour and mix until a dough begins to form. Knead on a floured surface for 3-4 minutes until slightly smooth but a bit sticky.
  • Incorporate softened unsalted butter and knead for an additional 4-5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover and let rise for about 90 minutes until doubled in size.

Cheesecake Filling

  • In a bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add sugar and vanilla, mixing until fully combined.

Shaping and Baking

  • After the dough has risen, divide it into 9 equal portions and roll each into a ball. Place on a lined tray with space in between.
  • Cover with a towel and let rest for 20 minutes.
  • Create indentations using a floured measuring cup, fill with cream cheese mixture, and top with blueberries.
  • Mix melted butter, flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the streusel topping. Brush exposed dough with egg wash and sprinkle streusel over each bun.
  • Preheat oven to 175°C and bake for 20-23 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let cool for 10 minutes before serving. Optionally dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with glaze.
