  • 2 cups rice Rinsed under cold water.
  • 4 tablespoons butter Melted over medium heat.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Sautéed until fragrant.
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth Infuses flavor into the rice.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped Freshens up the dish.

Preparation

  • Begin by measuring out your ingredients. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  • In a pot, melt the butter over medium heat until bubbly but not browned.
  • Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, around 1-2 minutes.
  • Stir in the rinsed rice and coat each grain with the butter and garlic. Let it toast gently for about 2 minutes.
  • Carefully pour in the broth and stir in the salt.
  • Turn up the heat and bring the mixture to a boil.
  • Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the pot. Allow it to simmer gently.
  • Let the rice cook for 18-20 minutes until all the liquid has been absorbed.
  • Once cooked, remove the pot from heat and fluff the rice with a fork.
  • Finally, stir in the chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

For extra garlic flavor, try roasting garlic instead of using raw garlic. A sprinkle of lemon zest before serving can brighten the dish. Consider mixing in some grated Parmesan cheese for a richer texture and flavor.
