  • 2 cups sushi rice Rinse well before cooking.
  • 2.5 cups water For cooking the rice.
  • ½ cup rice vinegar To flavor the rice.
  • 2 tablespoons sugar For sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Enhances flavor.

Toppings

  • 1 avocado, sliced Slice into fan shapes.
  • 1 cucumber, julienned Cut into thin strips.
  • 1 cup imitation crab meat, shredded Can substitute with real crab or tofu.
  • 4 sheets nori, cut into strips For garnish.

Serving

  • Soy sauce For serving.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
  • Combine the rinsed rice with the measured water in a rice cooker and cook until fluffy, about 20 minutes.
  • In a small saucepan, heat rice vinegar, sugar, and salt over low heat until dissolved.
  • Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a large bowl and gently fold in the vinegar mixture. Let it cool to room temperature.
  • While the rice cools, slice the avocado and julienne the cucumber.
  • Shred the imitation crab meat into bite-sized pieces.

Assembly

  • In serving bowls, layer the sushi rice as the base.
  • Add sliced avocado, julienned cucumber, and shredded crab meat in separate sections.
  • Top with nori strips for added crunch.
  • Serve with soy sauce on the side.
