  • ½ cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 4 medium apples Peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon For sprinkling over apples

For the Cake Batter

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

Making the Caramel Base

  • In a medium bowl, mix the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Pour the caramel mixture into the bottom of the prepared cake pan.
  • Layer the apple slices over the caramel, sprinkling ground cinnamon over the apples.

Making the Cake Batter

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, mix milk, eggs, and vanilla extract, then whisk until uniform.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined.
  • Pour the batter over the arranged apples and spread evenly.

Baking
