Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients. Ensure that your butter is unsalted and at room temperature for easier melting. Pre-measure everything.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.

Mixing

  • Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally until completely melted.
  • Stir in the granulated sugar until well combined. Add the eggs one at a time, stirring thoroughly after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  • Incorporate the flour, cocoa powder, and salt into the wet mixture until smooth to form a rich, thick batter.

Layering
