  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • ¼ cup ice water

For the Filling

  • 4 pieces ripe pears, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon chai spice blend
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom

For the Crumble Topping

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup chopped almonds
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and tools. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, and salt.
  • Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Gradually add ice water, mixing just until the dough forms.
  • Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes.

Filling Preparation

  • Toss the sliced pears with brown sugar, flour, chai spice blend, ginger, and cardamom in a bowl.

Crumble Topping Preparation

  • In a medium bowl, combine oats, chopped almonds, and brown sugar.
  • Stir in melted butter until crumbly.

Assembling the Tart

  • Roll out the chilled dough into a 12-inch circle and place it in a 9-inch tart pan.
  • Spread the pear filling evenly over the tart shell.
  • Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the pears.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 40-50 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.

Serving

  • Let the tart cool for 15-20 minutes before slicing and serving.
