  • 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded Rotisserie chicken is a great alternative.
  • 1 cup heavy cream For a lighter version, use half-and-half.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Divided into two portions for baking.
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper Enhances flavor.
  • for garnish Fresh parsley Optional for serving.

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients for a smooth cooking process.

Cooking the Tortellini

  • In a pot of boiling water, add the cheese tortellini and cook according to the package instructions, usually about 3-5 minutes. Once cooked, drain and set aside.

Mixing Ingredients

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked tortellini, shredded chicken, heavy cream, half of the mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir until well coated.

Baking

  • Transfer the tortellini mixture to a greased baking dish and spread evenly.
  • Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over the top.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is bubbling and golden brown.

Serving

  • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired before serving.

Notes

For best results, avoid overcooking the tortellini. You can also add vegetables or experiment with different herbs for customization.
