Ingredients
  

Meat and Seasoning

  • 1 package taco seasoning For flavoring the meat
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey Can substitute with ground chicken or plant-based meat

Toppings and Filling

  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend) Adjust cheese type as per preference
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough Can be substituted with gluten-free dough or phyllo pastry
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes Fresh tomatoes or canned, drained
  • 0.5 cup diced onions Add to taste
  • 0.5 cup sliced black olives Optional topping

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all ingredients and prep by dicing tomatoes, onions, and olives.
  • Cook the ground beef or turkey in a skillet over medium heat until browned; add taco seasoning per package instructions.
  • Roll out the biscuit dough on a floured surface and cut each biscuit in half.
  • Grease a muffin tin and press halved biscuits into each slot to form cups.

Assembly

  • Fill each biscuit cup with the seasoned meat mixture, about three-quarters full.
  • Top with diced tomatoes, onions, black olives, and sprinkle with shredded cheese.

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and cheese melts.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Best served warm. Customize with your favorite toppings and spices for variation. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. They freeze well for up to 2 months.
