  • 2 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 8 oz pasta (penne or spaghetti)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce Homemade marinara is recommended.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese For melting.
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese For topping.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • Olive oil for cooking

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients. Chop the chicken into manageable pieces and set them aside.

Cooking Pasta

  • In a pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook your chosen pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set it aside.

Cooking Chicken

  • In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.
  • Season the chicken breasts with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Add the seasoned chicken to the skillet and cook for approximately 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing into strips.

Combining Ingredients

  • In the same skillet, pour in the marinara sauce and bring it to a simmer.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, making sure to coat every piece with the marinara.
  • Top the pasta and sauce with the sliced chicken, followed by mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  • Cover the skillet and let it cook for another 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts.

Notes

This dish is versatile and can be customized with vegetables or different proteins. For extra flavor, consider broiling the chicken and cheese topping for a crispy finish.
