  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth

Substitutes

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or vegan butter as a substitute for butter

Preparation

  • Start by gathering all your ingredients and tools. Make sure your chicken is thawed if it was in the freezer. Clean your countertop and have a cutting board and sharp knife ready. A skillet will be your best friend in this recipe!
  • Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.

Cooking

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil and butter. Allow the butter to melt completely.
  • Add the seasoned chicken thighs to the skillet and sear for about 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer for a minute. Stir in the heavy cream and let it simmer for about 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Return the chicken thighs to the skillet and coat them in the creamy sauce, simmer for an additional minute to heat through.

Serving

  • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve over rice, pasta, or with crusty bread.

Notes

Let the sauce simmer longer for enhanced flavors and finish with a splash of lemon juice for freshness. Experiment with fresh herbs like tarragon or thyme for a unique twist.
