For the Burritos

  • 2 cups chili verde
  • 4 large flour tortillas For gluten-free, use corn tortillas.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar or Monterey Jack works well.
  • 1 cup sour cream Dairy-free options are available.
  • ½ cup diced onions Optional: sauté for extra flavor.
  • ½ cup chopped cilantro Fresh for garnish.
  • 1 piece avocado Sliced for serving.

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients.
  • Measure out the chili verde, shredded cheese, sour cream, diced onions, chopped cilantro, and sliced avocado.

Cooking

  • Warm the flour tortillas in a skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.
  • Spread a portion of chili verde in the center of each tortilla.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheese, followed by diced onions and chopped cilantro on top of the chili verde.
  • Carefully fold in the sides of the tortilla and roll from the bottom upwards to shape the burrito.
  • Cook the rolled burrito seam side down in the skillet for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Prepare sour cream in a small bowl and arrange slices of avocado on a plate while burritos cook.
  • Serve the hot burritos with sour cream and avocado on the side.

Notes

For added flavor, sprinkle lime juice over fillings. Avoid overstuffing to prevent spills and ensure the tortillas are warmed to prevent cracking.
