Instructions

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and tools. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Making the Cake

  • In a heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate and butter over a pot of simmering water.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together sugar, oil, and vanilla extract. Add the cooled chocolate mixture, then mix in the eggs one at a time.
  • In another bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually combine the dry mixture with the wet ingredients. Stir in boiling water and instant coffee until smooth.
  • Pour the batter into a greased and floured 9-inch cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  • Allow the cake to cool before transferring it to a wire rack.

  • Once cooled, slice the cake into two layers. Spread brigadeiro filling on the first layer and place the second layer on top.
  • Use remaining brigadeiro to frost the sides and top of the cake.
  • Decorate the cake with melted chocolate, Maria biscuits, and chocolate biscuits. Get creative with shapes and designs!

Chill and Serve

  • Refrigerate the decorated cake until set. Slice and enjoy!
