Equipment

  • Mixing Bowls
  • Whisk
  • Baking dish
  • Spatula
  • Oven

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 large croissants torn into pieces
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • cup chocolate chips
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  • Grease a baking dish and gather all your ingredients for easy preparation.
  • Tear the croissants into bite-sized pieces and spread them evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
  • Add eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt to the cream cheese. Whisk until smooth to create a custard mixture.
  • Pour the custard mixture over the croissant pieces, pressing them gently to ensure even soaking.
  • Sprinkle chocolate chips over the top of the soaked croissants.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight (at least 8 hours) to allow the custard to absorb.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Remove the cover and bake for 30–35 minutes until golden and set in the center.
  • Let cool slightly, then serve warm with whipped cream, powdered sugar, or fresh berries if desired.

Notes

For best texture, do not skip the overnight soaking step. Use fresh croissants for optimal flavor. You can also add nuts or berries for extra texture and taste. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days or frozen for 2 months.
