Preparation

  • Gather all the ingredients, ensuring everything is measured for a smooth baking experience.
  • Cream the softened butter and powdered sugar in a mixing bowl until smooth, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Mix in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms, approximately 2-3 minutes.
  • Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and flatten them slightly.

Baking

  • Arrange the cookies on a lined baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15-18 minutes or until edges are golden.
  • Cool cookies on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Dipping and Garnishing

  • Melt dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler until smooth.
  • Dip half of each cookie in melted chocolate and shake off excess.
  • Immediately add a slice of fresh strawberry on top of the chocolate-dipped cookie.
