Preparation

  • Start by gathering all your ingredients.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  • In another bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then add vanilla extract.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the butter mixture until just combined.
  • Gently fold in chopped apples and walnuts.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 40-45 minutes.
  • Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.

Notes

To keep the cake moist, cover it properly and store. It can last about three days at room temperature. Freezing is also possible for up to three months.
