Preparation

  • Start by peeling and slicing your carrots into even pieces.
  • Gather the rest of your ingredients.

Cooking

  • Bring a pot of salted water to a rolling boil.
  • Add the sliced carrots and boil until tender, about 8–10 minutes.
  • Drain the carrots well in a colander and let them cool briefly.

Making the Glaze

  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Stir in the brown sugar, orange juice, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg.
  • Continue stirring until the mixture thickens slightly, about 3-5 minutes.

Combining

  • Toss the drained carrots into the glaze and stir gently to coat.
  • Cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve warm.

Notes

To store leftovers, place in an airtight container and refrigerate for 3–5 days. Freezing is also an option for up to three months. Reheat gently in the microwave or on the stove.
