Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened Should be at room temperature.
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup maple syrup For a rich flavor.
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Mix-ins

  • 1 cup white chocolate chips Can substitute with dark or milk chocolate.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Measure out all the ingredients.

Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Creaming

  • In a large bowl, beat together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy and light.

Combine Ingredients

  • Add maple syrup, egg, and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture, and blend until well combined.
  • Slowly mix in the flour mixture until just combined.
  • Fold in the white chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Drop scoops of dough onto a prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend. You can also modify the recipe by adding nuts or using different types of chocolate.
