Preparation

  • Start by gathering all your ingredients.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate chips in short bursts of 15-30 seconds until smooth.
  • While the chocolate is melting, line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.

Layering

  • Pour the melted dark chocolate into each cupcake liner, filling them halfway.
  • Refrigerate for about 15 minutes, or until set.
  • Melt the white chocolate chips in a similar manner and mix in the peppermint extract.
  • Pour the white chocolate over the dark chocolate layer in each liner and fill to the top.
  • Sprinkle crushed candy canes on top before the white chocolate sets.
  • Return to the refrigerator for 30 minutes to set fully.
