  • 1 bundle asparagus Trim the woody ends before wrapping.
  • 8-10 slices prosciutto Use high-quality prosciutto for best flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Optional, for drizzling.
  • to taste salt and pepper Season sparingly due to the saltiness of prosciutto.
  • to taste balsamic glaze Optional, for drizzling before serving.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Trim the woody ends off the asparagus and rinse under cold water.

Wrapping

  • Take a slice of prosciutto and wrap it snugly around each asparagus spear.

Baking

  • Arrange the prosciutto-wrapped asparagus on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Drizzle lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, until the prosciutto is crispy and the asparagus is tender.
  • Check for doneness after 12 minutes; add an additional 2-3 minutes if necessary.

Serving

  • Remove from the oven, allow to cool for a minute, then drizzle with balsamic glaze if desired.
  • Transfer to a serving platter and enjoy warm.

Notes
