  • 1 piece pie crust (store-bought or homemade) Pre-baked for a crunchier texture.
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream Can use a non-dairy cream as an alternative.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., cheddar, Swiss) Grated fresh for better melting.
  • 1 cup cooked vegetables (e.g., spinach, bell peppers, onions) Can substitute with favorite vegetables.

  • optional cooked bacon or ham For added protein.

Preparation

  • Gather all ingredients. Measure out the heavy cream, cheese, and vegetables. If using fresh vegetables, wash and chop into bite-sized pieces.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cooking

  • If using raw vegetables, sauté them in a pan with a splash of olive oil over medium heat until softened. Set aside to cool slightly.
  • In a bowl, crack the eggs and add the heavy cream. Whisk until smooth and creamy, adding salt and pepper to taste.
  • Stir in the shredded cheese and cooled cooked vegetables. If using bacon or ham, fold it in evenly.
  • Place the pie crust in a pie dish and carefully pour the egg mixture into the crust.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is lightly golden.

Serving

  • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before slicing.
  • Serve warm, paired with a fresh salad or festive fruits.

Notes

Allow to cool completely before storing. Keeps in the fridge for 3-4 days. Reheat slices in the microwave or oven.
