Instructions

Preparation

  • Before diving into the mixing, make sure all your ingredients are ready. Crush the vanilla wafers in a zip-top bag or food processor, and finely chop your nuts. Set these aside for mixing.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the crushed vanilla wafer cookies, powdered sugar, chopped nuts, and cocoa powder. Mix everything well until evenly distributed.
  • Pour in the dark or spiced rum, light corn syrup, and pure vanilla extract into the dry mixture. Stir gently until everything is evenly moistened and a cohesive mixture forms.
  • Using a small cookie scoop or your hands, portion the mixture and roll it into 1-inch diameter spheres.

Coating

  • Prepare nearby shallow bowls filled with powdered sugar, chopped nuts, shredded coconut, cocoa powder, and nonpareil sprinkles.
  • Take each rolled rum ball and gently roll it in your desired coating.

Storage

  • Once coated, place your rum balls in an airtight container. Layer them with parchment paper if needed to avoid sticking.
  • Refrigerate the container for at least one hour to help the flavors meld beautifully.

  • After chilling, your Christmas Rum Balls Delight is ready! Serve them as a delightful treat for guests or keep them handy for snacking.
