For the Sangria Base

  • 1 bottle red wine Choose a fruity variety for best results.
  • 1 cup brandy Adds depth and richness.
  • ΒΌ cup orange liqueur Enhances the citrus flavor.
  • 1 cup orange juice For natural sweetness and zest.

For the Fruit

  • 1 apple sliced Provides crunch and color.
  • 1 orange sliced Brightens up the drink.
  • 1 lemon sliced Offers a hint of tartness.
  • 1 cup mixed berries Adds sweetness and color.

For Serving

  • 2 cups soda water or lemon-lime soda Generates a refreshing fizz.
  • Ice Essential for serving.

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients. Wash the fruits and slice the apple, orange, and lemon into thin rings or wedges. Rinse and dry the mixed berries.
  • In a large pitcher, pour the entire bottle of red wine, add brandy and orange liqueur, and stir gently.
  • Pour in the orange juice and stir to combine all the liquids.
  • Add the sliced apple, orange, lemon, and mixed berries to the pitcher.
  • Cover the pitcher and place it in the refrigerator to chill for at least 2 hours.
  • When ready to serve, fill a glass with ice, pour the sangria over the ice until about two-thirds full.
  • Top with soda water or lemon-lime soda and gently stir.
  • Garnish with a sprig of mint or a slice of fruit if desired, and enjoy!

Notes

Best enjoyed within 24 hours. You can freeze leftover fruit or make ice cubes from the sangria for future cocktails.
