Preparation

  • Begin by gathering and measuring all your ingredients.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with butter or non-stick spray.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, add the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
