  • 40 pieces Saltine crackers
  • 1 cup butter Can be substituted with coconut oil or plant-based butter.
  • 1 cup brown sugar Can use coconut sugar as an alternative.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Dark or dairy-free chocolate chips can be used.
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Lay out the Saltine crackers in a single layer on the baking sheet.

Cooking

  • In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar on medium heat, stirring continuously until boiling.
  • Keep the mixture boiling for 3 minutes while stirring constantly, then pour it over the arranged Saltine crackers.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
  • Sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee and let them melt for a few minutes.
  • Combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon, then sprinkle the mixture on top of the melted chocolate.
  • Allow the toffee to cool completely, then break it into pieces.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week, or refrigerate for longer freshness.
