  • 1 cup water
  • 1 stick cinnamon Cinnamon stick for a rich flavor.
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey Adjust to taste.
  • ½ lemon Juice of 1/2 lemon Provides acidity and flavor.

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients: water, cinnamon stick, honey, and lemon.
  • In a small saucepan, bring the water to a boil over medium heat.
  • Once the water reaches a rolling boil, add the cinnamon stick.
  • Lower the heat and let the mixture simmer for about 5 to 10 minutes.
  • While the cinnamon steeps, measure out 1-2 tablespoons of honey and squeeze the juice from half a lemon into a separate small bowl.
  • After simmering, remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the honey and lemon juice.
  • If desirable, strain the tea to remove the cinnamon stick.
  • Pour the tea into your favorite mug and enjoy it warm.

Notes

Store leftover tea in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days. Reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave.
