Kolache Dough

milk

melted

sugar

instant yeast

Filling

fruit jam
any flavor
powdered sugar
for dusting
Instructions
Combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar in a bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
Mix melted butter and eggs into the yeast mixture.
In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the wet ingredients and knead until smooth.
Cover the dough and let rise for 1 hour.
Divide dough into 12 balls. Flatten slightly and make an indentation in the center.
Fill each indentation with jam and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15 minutes.
Notes
You can use cream cheese or poppy seed filling for a traditional variation.
