  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened Ensure it’s softened for easy mixing.
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar or mozzarella are recommended.
  • 1 cup cooked bacon or ham, chopped For a vegetarian option, substitute with bell peppers or mushrooms.
  • ½ cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder Enhances flavor.
  • to taste salt and pepper Adjust according to preference.

Preparation

  • Gather all the ingredients.
  • Chop the green onions and cooked bacon or ham.
  • Ensure the cream cheese is softened.

Mixing & Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Hollow out the cob loaf, leaving a thick shell and set aside the bread.
  • In a bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, shredded cheese, and bacon or ham.
  • Sprinkle in garlic powder, salt, pepper, and green onions, mixing until well combined.
  • Spoon the mixture into the hollowed-out cob loaf and pack it in.
  • Place the filled cob loaf onto a baking sheet.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until bubbly and golden.

Serving

  • Cut the reserved bread into chunks for dipping, along with fresh vegetables, chips, or crackers.
  • Serve warm and enjoy with friends and family.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Reheat in an oven-safe dish at 350°F until warmed through.
