Ingredients
  

For the Citrus Mixture

  • 2 cups citrus juice (such as orange, lemon, lime, or a mix) Feel free to use any citrus juice you prefer, such as grapefruit or tangerine.
  • 1 cup sugar You could substitute granulated sugar with honey or agave syrup.
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon gelatin Optional for a firmer texture. For a vegan alternative, use agar-agar.

Preparation

  • Gather all the ingredients and ensure your kitchen is tidy.
  • In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of sugar with 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring gently until the sugar completely dissolves, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Reduce the heat slightly, pour in 2 cups of citrus juice, stirring until well combined. Bring to a light simmer.
  • If using gelatin, sprinkle it over the hot citrus mixture and stir until dissolved.
  • Remove the saucepan from heat and allow the mixture to cool to room temperature for about 15-20 minutes.
  • Pour the mixture into a pourable container. Cover it and refrigerate until set, at least a few hours or overnight.
  • Once set, scoop out portions and serve chilled with optional garnishes.

Notes

This dessert can be customized with different citrus juices or by adding fresh herbs and spices. Serve with fresh berries or whipped cream for an elegant touch.
