Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients ensuring the cream cheese and butter are at room temperature.

Making the Dough

  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened cream cheese and unsalted butter until smooth.
  • Gradually add the powdered sugar while continuing to mix until fully incorporated.
  • Stir in the all-purpose flour and vanilla extract until just combined but do not overmix.

Baking

  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto an ungreased baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 12-15 minutes until edges are golden.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Serving

  • Dust the cookies with powdered sugar before serving if desired.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for about a week. Freezing possible for up to 3 months.
