  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream Can be substituted with Greek yogurt or coconut milk.
  • 1 cup chicken broth Vegetable broth can be used for a vegetarian version.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Preparation

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add orzo pasta and cook according to the package instructions (about 8-10 minutes). Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add shrimp to the skillet. Season with paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until shrimp turns pink.
  • Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
  • Stir in heavy cream and let it bubble for about 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Fold in the cooked orzo until all pasta is coated with the sauce.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  • Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

This dish can be customized by adding seasonal vegetables or protein alternatives. Store leftovers in airtight containers and consume within 3 days or freeze for up to 2-3 months.
