  • 2 pieces apples, peeled and sliced Firm and tart apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work best.
  • 1 can crescent roll dough Use gluten-free dough if needed.
  • 1 cup butter Substitute with coconut oil or vegan butter for dairy-free option.
  • 1 cup sugar Can be substituted with a sugar alternative.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Adds warmth and flavor.
  • 1 cup Mountain Dew (or similar lemon-lime soda) Other sodas can also be used for variety.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Peel and slice the apples into thin wedges.

Assembly

  • Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles.
  • Position each apple slice at the wide end of a triangle and roll it up.
  • Place the rolled dumplings in a greased baking dish.

Sauce Preparation

  • Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Stir in sugar and cinnamon until combined.

Finalize

  • Pour the butter mixture over the dumplings in the baking dish.
  • Pour the Mountain Dew around the dumplings.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes
