  • as needed spray cooking oil spray Essential for non-stick cooking in the air fryer.

  • Soak the slices in a bowl of salted water for about 10 minutes.
  • Drain the plantain slices and pat them dry with a paper towel.
  • Spray the air fryer basket with cooking oil to prevent sticking.

Cooking

  • Arrange the plantain slices in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overlapping.
  • Set the air fryer to 400°F and cook for 10 minutes, flipping the slices halfway through.
  • Remove the slices and gently flatten each one with a flat surface.
  • Return the flattened slices to the air fryer, spray with more oil, and cook for an additional 5 minutes at 400°F.

Serving

  • Once the tostones are golden and crispy, serve them hot with your favorite dipping sauce or plain.

Notes

For best results, avoid overcrowding the air fryer and ensure to pat the plantains dry thoroughly. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
