Instructions
 

  • Prep ingredients and line up flour, beaten eggs, and panko in separate bowls to form a breading station.
  • Wrap each mozzarella stick with a slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
  • Dredge each bacon-wrapped stick in flour, then dip in egg, and coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  • Heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep fryer or heavy pot.
  • Fry poppers in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  • Drain on a wire rack lined with paper towels.
  • Drizzle with maple syrup and serve hot with Sriracha-ranch dip.

Notes

For a healthier option, bake the poppers at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes until crispy. Try seasoning breadcrumbs with garlic powder or paprika for extra flavor.
