Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 8 oz mushrooms cleaned and sliced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • oil for frying

Ranch Dip

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp dried dill
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Clean and slice the mushrooms, then prepare all ingredients.
  • In a bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Dip mushrooms in buttermilk to coat thoroughly.
  • Dredge the mushrooms in the seasoned flour mixture, shaking off excess.
  • Dip the coated mushrooms into the beaten egg.
  • Roll mushrooms in breadcrumbs until evenly coated.
  • Heat oil in a skillet to 350°F and fry mushrooms until golden brown, about 3–4 minutes per batch.
  • Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  • In a separate bowl, mix sour cream, mayonnaise, dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to make the ranch dip.
  • Serve the crispy mushrooms hot with the ranch dip and enjoy!

Notes

For extra crunch, use panko breadcrumbs. You can bake them instead of frying for a lighter version. Pair with buffalo or blue cheese dip for variety.
