Instructions
Clean and slice the mushrooms, then prepare all ingredients.
In a bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Dip mushrooms in buttermilk to coat thoroughly.
Dredge the mushrooms in the seasoned flour mixture, shaking off excess.
Dip the coated mushrooms into the beaten egg.
Roll mushrooms in breadcrumbs until evenly coated.
Heat oil in a skillet to 350°F and fry mushrooms until golden brown, about 3–4 minutes per batch.
Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
In a separate bowl, mix sour cream, mayonnaise, dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to make the ranch dip.
Serve the crispy mushrooms hot with the ranch dip and enjoy!
Notes
For extra crunch, use panko breadcrumbs. You can bake them instead of frying for a lighter version. Pair with buffalo or blue cheese dip for variety.
