Crispy Honey Garlic Tofu

Ingredients
  

Crispy Tofu

  • 14 oz extra-firm tofu pressed and cubed
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil for frying

Honey Garlic Sauce

  • ¼ cup honey
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce low sodium
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp cornstarch for thickening
  • 2 tbsp water
  • sesame seeds for garnish
  • green onions sliced, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Toss tofu cubes with cornstarch until evenly coated.
  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry tofu until golden and crispy on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  • In a small bowl, whisk honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, cornstarch, and water.
  • Add garlic to the skillet and sauté briefly until fragrant.
  • Pour sauce into the skillet and cook until thickened, about 1–2 minutes.
  • Return tofu to the skillet and toss until fully coated in sauce.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve warm.

Notes

Serve over rice or noodles for a complete meal. For a vegan version, substitute maple syrup for honey.
