Preparation

  • Start by gathering all your ingredients. Rinse the salmon fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, honey, and sesame oil. Whisk until well blended.
  • Sprinkle salt and pepper on both sides of the salmon fillets.
  • Using a brush or a spoon, coat the salmon fillets generously with the marinade.
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds over the marinated salmon, ensuring an even coating.

Cooking

  • In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  • Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet and sear for about 3-4 minutes without moving them.
  • Once seared, carefully transfer the entire skillet to a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) and bake for about 10-12 minutes.
  • Check that the salmon flakes easily with a fork to ensure it’s done.
  • Once done, allow it to sit for a minute before serving.

Notes

Serve with rice, quinoa, or roasted vegetables. This dish pairs well with chilled white wine.
