  • 2 lbs ground beef browned before adding to crockpot
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cans (15 oz each) kidney beans drained
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  • Add the cooked beef to the crockpot. Stir in crushed tomatoes, drained beans, onion, and garlic.
  • Season with chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 6–8 hours or on HIGH for 3–4 hours.
  • Stir before serving and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve warm with shredded cheese, sour cream, or fresh herbs.

Notes

This recipe is freezer-friendly and tastes even better the next day as the flavors deepen. For a lighter version, substitute ground turkey for beef. Top with green onions or jalapeños for an extra kick!
